Case: – Statue of Courage

UKKO.FI – Statue of Courage reached a milestone of 100 000 self-employed entrepreneurs using their services and wanted to create something memorable to celebrate that. And what would be more striking than the Statue of Courage in the middle of Helsinki? users are all brave entrepreneurs and in order to share knowledge of self-employment, we wanted to highlight three users and tell their stories. Their bravery is truly something to acknowledge and they deserve to be put on a pedestal – both literally and figuratively. And that’s how the idea of the Statue of Courage was born.

Statue of Courage depicts three entrepreneurs and was unveiled in Kansalaistori, in the heart of Helsinki, November 2020. With this act we wanted to celebrate the courage of self-employed entrepreneurs, but also to raise discussion around self-employment: the value and role of entrepreneurship as a part of modern society and on-going change in working life.

The act was a success and during three days at Kansalaistori we managed to create interest, share knowledge of self-employment and have interesting discussions with Finnish influencers and entrepreneurs. We also wanted to give people a chance to create something long-lasting by giving them a chance to engrave their name on the statue pedestal. In addition to this act, we created a comprehensive marketing campaign, which included TV, radio, DOOH, OOH, print ad in Helsingin Sanomat front page and digital banners.
